VOICES Napa Program Overview
VOICES Napa’s Programs
EXPLORATIONS – College and Career Center
EXPLORATIONS supports youth to develop a personal plan for success in the areas of education, employment and career development. Youth have access to the drop-in center for a variety of resources and 1:1 coaching. EXPLORATIONS partners with employers all over the Napa Valley to provide internships and employment opportunities for eligible youth. This is a WIA Title I financially assisted program and is an equal opportunity program. Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities. CHANGES – Wellness of Mind, Body and Soul
CHANGES promotes the overall wellness of VOICES youth by increasing their access to health related resources and services. Areas of wellness include mental and physical health, food and nutrition, substance abuse, and spiritual growth. CHANGES provides opportunities for youth members to identify their wellness needs within their mind, body and soul - and then encourages them to advocate for and take charge of their own well-being.
ILP – Support Transitioning Out of Foster Care
The Independent Living Program (ILP), through a partnership with Napa County Health and Human Services, provides training and coaching to help youth members develop the skills needed for independence after aging-out of the foster care system. ILP includes individualized coaching, life conferences with supportive adults, life-skills workshops, social gatherings, group outings and leadership opportunities with the intention of supporting youth to build life-long relationships and support. Caregivers are also provided resources and supports to help youth on their road to adulthood.
PLACES – Support in Finding Housing
For youth exiting the foster care system, finding stable housing can be a daunting and expensive challenge. VOICES Napa, in partnership with Progress Foundation, created the PLACES program to help meet their housing needs. PLACES is a subsidized housing, support and skills development program that is funded through THP+ and the state of California.
