Don't tell anyone else but...

listening to the song "Life is a Flower" by Ace of Base will brighten my day, no matter what.

Most recent discovery:

developing patience

My first job:

I waited tables and was a hostess at the Buffalo Wing Factory in Ashburn, Virginia the summer after high school graduation. They have a bright purple wing sauce, the Flatliner, that is so hot you have to sign a waiver in order to be allowed to eat it. And, of course, one day I spilled about 5 individual wing servings of these Flatliners all over myself- it made my skin swell and bleached my clothes!

Where I’ve come from and where I expect to be in the next 3-5 years:

I came from graduating with my Masters in Nonprofit Management and Policy Analysis, looking for how to actually put my degree and desire to help the world to work. Working here in the Napa Valley, at CANV and at VOICES, has helped me actually jump out of the theory and into the practice. In the next 3-5 years, I hope to continue to work in the nonprofit sector, developing my professional skills and making a difference, one person at a time.

How did you get connected to VOICES?

I first got connected to VOICES when I was supervisor for the CANV Napa Valley Solar Partnership. I worked with VOICES youth on educating Napa County homeowners about the benefits of residential solar systems, and since then, I've been hooked!
